Dream Angel by Leandra Ramm (Pop Artist from New York City (NY))

The superb vocalist Leandra Ramm releases her fabulous debut single, “Dream Angel,” that creatively intermingles the genres of Pop and Classical music. What happens when you take these genres and put them together with a magnificent singer? A song that is truly innovating and stylish. There are two versions of “Dream Angel” and both are equally impressive. Taking the musical composition from Bach’s Prelude in C Major and writing an original vocal line gives inspiration to Ramm as she performs with a rich and exquisite vocal range. Her strong opera voice surges with a highly polishes style and grace. Now take this single as a remix and the end result is wonderful. You can hear the vibrant beats with electrifying pulses as Ramm takes her song and spins it into a terrific modern Pop version. If you’re a fan of Pop and Classical music, then the single, “Dream Angel,” will surprise and amaze you as Ramm proves to be a powerful vocalist in either style of music.

Release of I Stand Alone Announced by Reggae/Hip Hop Artist No Phear

The talented reggae/hip hop musician from Jamaica has released his anticipated sophomore album, a move which will thrill his fans around the world.

No Phear recently released his new album, marking a huge stage in the career of the versatile reggae/hip hop singer-songwriter. No Phear, who hails from St. Ann, Jamaica, has released his second solo project and is now promoting the album to build upon his fan base and introduce his music to more people than ever.

The album, I Stand Alone, consists of sixteen original songs from No Phear, each providing a combination of contemporary driving beats, resonant vocals and inspired lyrics. The rhythmic undercurrent bears testament to a modern interpretation of reggae, and the music is accentuated throughout with elements of dancehall and hip hop.

The album was recorded at Rockstar Entertainment & Music in New Jersey, and its creation was supported by musicians like Pink Bling, Super Shane and Notorious. It was produced collaboratively by No Phear, Showtime da Producer and T and was post-produced by T from High Stakes Records.

I Stand Alone reveals the array of influences that have found their way into No Phear’s music. While his grounding is in traditional reggae, his style has been shaped by other musical forms indigenous to the Caribbean. No Phear always brings something singular and fresh to a traditional sound. For this reason, his preference for unconventional beats has been enhanced by his ability to blend the essence of reggae/dancehall with a modern urban note flavored by rap and hip hop.

No Phear said of his work, “Since going solo, my style has developed, and I’ve incorporated other sounds and genres which have all made their way into I Stand Alone. The album is a reflection of my influences over the years and the changes that I’ve experienced as an artist.”

The album is available now on iTunes, Rhapsody and Amazon; and fans are encouraged to visit No Phear’s website, which provides everything you could want to know about the promising musician: fans can check out No Phear’s brand new “Zion’s Gate” video, view photos, and sign up for the mailing list to receive information about upcoming shows and No Phear news. "Organic Matter" by Peter Fraize (Jazz Artist from Washington D.C.(DC))

Peter Fraize's latest album is called "Organic Matter" and is an album that features a tight knit cast of players (Hammond organist, a guitarist, and a drummer) all playing with Fraize and his saxophone, on his original compositions that are of a wide variety of Jazz songs. "Soloman's House of Freaks" is an almost toe-tapping blues shuffle, in which the drums, organ, and guitar hold down the beat while the saxophone does the singing. "Brain's" is a unique jazzy number, with talented musical timing, that portrays a very modern take on using soulful sounds. "Fish (This Big)" is a song that incorporates a little bit of the jam-band sounds, in a song that is both jazz and rock like and really packs a punch. Overall, this is a distinctive album with its primary use of the Hammond organ as well as the saxophone to create songs that are an amalgam of both past and modern Jazz. If a collection of funky and truly talented jazz grooves sounds like something you would enjoy, then pick up "Organic Matter" by Peter Fraize.

"Real Love" by SamO & JFC (Reggae Artist from Virginia(VA))

SamO & JFC's new CD, "Real Love," is a fun-loving and energetic collection of contemporary Caribbean music incorporating reggae, soca and calypso rhythms and influences. Title track "Real Love" is a celebration of true love put to an energetic reggae beat with terrific brass highlights. "Obama Victory Song" employs a reggae rhythm to express admiration for the 1st African-American president. "Heel and Toe" is more of a modern Caribbean dance song, and includes instruction for the 'heel and toe' dance. With roots and dance-hall and other reggae styles all blending in a celebration of island music, SamO & JFC's "Real Love" CD is a wonderful 12-song mix for dancing or just soaking up the sun-drenched sounds of the Caribbean.

"The Certaintity of Being Found" by Ian C. Bouras (Reggae Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

The smooth sounds on Ian C. Bouras' album, "The Certaintity of Being Found," are a fantastical trip of unique musical talent. This album almost surprises the listener with the range of genres that are under the artist's label of "ambient." From Reggae to flamenco guitar to a little dub step, this album packs a punch...in the most melodious way possible. "Thoughts On Angles and Sarcasm (Interlude)" is a track that breathes. That is to say, it has a slight pause every couple of seconds after each of which a fuller tone of the song comes out. Utilizing an acoustic guitar that is confident and solid, this track really speaks to the talent of the artist. "The Bounce," as its name may suggest, is a groovy, danceable tune, and has slow moving tempo interludes; adding to the easy listening vibe that comes with each of these tracks. All around, "The Certaintity of Being Found" is great for fans that enjoy fresh and original ambient Reggae music.

"Facets" by Todd Beaney and John M. Dolan (Spiritual Artist from New York(NY))

"Facets" is the latest release from the talented duo Todd Beaney and John M. Dolan. It is a wonderful contemporary Christian album recorded mostly with the piano and the trumpet, and is filled with these instruments playing beautiful hymns in a variety of fashions. "Jesus Loves Me" is a toe-tapping number, with a solid jazz backbone and crisp trumpet playing that is amiable and upbeat. "When Morning Gilds the Skies" is a dulcet number in which we hear the piano reflectively talk and the trumpet alluringly croons. "Down at the Cross" is a song that has a little bit of Dixie-jazz feel to it and is infectiously upbeat. "Facets" is an album that is perfect for those who enjoy Christian hymns, but would like to hear a novel and creative approach to this. It also, on its own, is a great collection of jazzy, funky, and introspective examples of the combination of skillful trumpet and piano playing.

"Leave the Kids Behind" by BS (A. Whiteman) (Spoken Word Artist from Illinois(IL))

"Leave the Kids Behind" is the latest album by the creative and hilarious comic BS (A. Whiteman). This is an adult comedy album (as it contains an explicit language and content advisory) in which a couple tracks are original comical Hip-Hop songs and others are hilarious parodies of Pop songs. "Breathalyzer (Parody of Womanizer)" is a song in which BS has taken the music to Britney Spear's popular song and created an amusing song about what can happen after having a few drinks too many. "When I was Doin' Cocaine (Parody of Where the Streets Have No Name)" is a song in which BS tells us about his drug use to the tune of U2's famous hit. In "I'll Just Laugh" BS creates a song in which he raps about his life and why it is the odd, yet funny, way that it is. This is an album for those who would appreciate vulgar, yet witty, humor put to contemporary music. Fans of Weird Al would appreciate the power of parody that is on BS (A. Whiteman)'s "Leave the Kids Behind" CD. CONTAINS EXPLICIT LANGUAGE

"Rhapsody of Enchanted Lands" by Akuna Art (Easy Listening Artist from France)

The electro-ambient creations of "Rhapsody of Enchanted Lands" by Akuna Art are among the few out there that can bring two genres, electronic and ambient, together extremely well. One can sit back and relax at home and let the melodies of the tracks soothe you or bob your head while driving on a nice sunny day. The rhythm and melody work so perfectly; making this a unique, enjoyable album. The very last track "5 O'Clock AM" is beautiful soundscape with trumpets, synthesizers, and other more modern effects that will take the listener into another world. "Philosophy In the Bedroom" utilizes the cool tempo of tribal drums with synthetic effects which definitely give the album a unique tone overall. "The Wind Gave Me This Story" by Miho Saigo (World Artist from Japan)

Miho Saigo's debut CD, "The Wind Gave Me This Story," is a captivating work of Eastern tones and contemporary melodies, expressed in the rich vernacular of a Mongolian 2-stringed instrument called a morin khuur. Similar in sound and size to a cello (although slightly smaller with a more box-like body), the morin khuur produces a varied sound, much dependent on the performer's unique artistry, which, in Saigo's case, is considerable. Accompanied mainly by spare and nuanced piano, the 7 instrumental pieces on "The Wind Gave Me This Story" evoke the wild plains of Mongolia with deep and inspired reverie. A plaintive melody infuses CD-opener, "A Song of Wind and Sky," a song of wonderment for nature's bounty, while Saigo effectively plays with rhythm on the visually evocative, "A White Horse in Suho." While the beautiful "The Kite" is less buoyant than one might infer, its pastoral melody is like a kite's tail gliding across an open sky with infinite grace. Equal parts Asian World music and New Age soundscapes, Miho Saigo's "The Wind Gave Me This Story" CD is an engaging and spiritual album for listeners with imagination as profound as wind.

"Alone But Not Alone" by Doug Munro (Spiritual Artist from New York(NY))

Doug Munro's debut solo album "Alone But Not Alone" is a wonderful collection of live instrumental studio recordings in which each song is inspired by spiritual passages from the Bible and other sources. In "Worship" we hear Munro's skills upon the acoustic guitar in a down tempo song that is calming and introspective. "The Journey" is a song in which a cool and interesting percussive lead is followed by both bluesy and funky guitar playing, in a fun-loving and celebratory musical number. The spiritual classic, "Amazing Grace," Munro incorporates some cool subtle psychedelic sounds in the background as he plays an emotive version of the song on his guitar. This is an album that might best be described as contemporary instrumental/inspirational music. It's heartfelt and you can hear how much the musician values his spirituality. If you enjoy calm and uplifting tunes or music that is intended with thoughtful reflective insight, then Doug Munro's "Alone But Not Alone" is well worth listening to.

"Fate Revealed By Design" by Scot Albertson (Jazz Artist from Connecticut(CT))

Another album from Scot Albertson is "Fate Revealed By Design" and it is a wonderful collection of serene and pleasant Jazz songs that pivot around Albertson's wonderfully crooning vocals. "A Man Alone" is a song in which we hear the heartfelt story of a lonely man in which Albertson is accompanied solely by a sweet and charming piano. "You Gotta Taste All the Fruit" is a toe-tapping song in which Albertson sings in almost a Broadway style over playful brass highlights. "With Every Note, A Step..." by Scot Albertson (Jazz Artist from Connecticut(CT))

Scot Albertson's latest CD, "With Every Note, A Step…," finds the crooner hitting his stride with a smart and well-conceived collection of tunes that blend influences ranging from lounge to theater. Opening his 15–song album with a fine medley incorporating Hammerstein and Kern's "The Song Is You" with "As Long As I'm Singing," while closing with an invigorating, jazz-informed performance of Dan Fogelberg's "Part of the Plan," Albertson oozes confidence and the delight of performing. With a jazzman's knack for the gentle art of swing, covers of Spike Jones' hit, "Pass the Biscuits, Mirandy," Frank Loesser's "I Hear Music," and Eubie Blake's "Memories Of You," sound as joyous - and relevant, as they were decades ago. For fans of the great American songbook, and the type of singing that's meant to stir the soul, Scot Albertson's "With Every Note, A Step…" CD continues a musical journey that's part easy listening and part jazz, but completely terrific.

"Millennial Sequence: Jailbreak!" by Tom Lucas (Rock Artist from New York(NY))

Tom Lucas' long-awaited 3rd album(packaging of this CD is available in English, French and German), "Millennial Sequence: Jailbreak!," finds the singer-songwriter returning to the scene after a too-long, 25-year hiatus. With a style that's been referred to as Psych / Folk Rock (but perhaps more closely approximated mid-'70's, NY-centric Punk / New Wave 'artistes', such as Patti Smith, Richard Hell or Lou Reed), Lucas reached legendary status with 2 albums that now command hefty collector's prices for their rarity and uniqueness. His new CD, "Millennial Sequence: Jailbreak!" - while more expansive than his earlier albums (3 songs clock in at over 6 minutes in length), bears the same trademark idiosyncratic – but completely accessible, piano-based pop-rock songs. CD-opener, "Out of Jail," is a well-crafted David Bowie-meets-Leonard Cohen ballad, both urbane and autumnal in its wistfulness, while "Paris of My Heart (Paris de mon Coeur)," with Lucas crooning in a wide-eyed David Byrne-like wonderment, is an impressive 8-minute-plus epic. Other highlights include the soulfully infectious "Nothing But Joy," with Lucas backed by what sounds like a rag-tag street chorus, and the ethereal "Birds of Prey," which takes the singer full-circle, invoking the above-mentioned Patti Smith in its quiet intensity. Twenty-five years in the making, Tom Lucas' new CD, "Millennial Sequence: Jailbreak!," is just in time to re-introduce the enigmatic artist to listeners who would rather forego formulaic pop for genuine and uncompromising - if rough-around-the-edges, artistry.

"From Bach Till Dawn" by Dominik Baumgartner (Classical Artist from Switzerland)

Dominik Baumgartner's latest release album is "From Bach Till Dawn." In this album Baumgartner has created an exceptionally choice collection of Baroque era classical music that is created through a virtual orchestra enhanced by sophisticated computer generated software. The song, "Hänsel und Gretel – A Fairy Tale Opera: Act II - "Introduction: The Witches' Ride," is well orchestrated as the woodwinds and flittering brass section perform with a dynamic intensity. For the "Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G Major, BWV 1048: III. Presto" we find ourselves confronted with an intensely swirling interplay between the strings as a brilliant counterpoint precision runs with powerful and exquisite tonality. The sound textures within the song, "Choral: The Old Forest," is replete with stirring choir like voices and violins that are dark, brooding, and emotive which gives this song a haunting sense of mystery. This album is one in which Baumgartner has embraced the musical world using the aid of a computer and this is no easy feat to accomplish as each song is well produced and well balanced with high quality sound textures. This album is perfect for those who already enjoy Bach, as it is a refreshing new look at Baroque music but isn't a break away from what makes the music so powerfully special to begin with.

"Crash Landing" by Zallen (Adult Rock Artist from Los Angeles, California(CA))

The talented multi-instrumentalist Zallen, has put together a terrific collection of quasi-psychedelic pop/rock on his latest released album, "Crash Landing," that harks back to the days of classic rock, yet still retains a unique voice. "Mission To the Moon" is a fun number with enjoyable lyrics, solid lead vocals, a galloping rhythm, and vivacious drums and guitars. In "Out of Phase" we find more of an antiquated rock and roll beat replete with fiery piano chords and great guitar riffs which compliment Zallen's vocal prowess. "The Last September" is a sharp flowing rock song in which we hear how Zallen's voice delivers strong and melodic tonality. This album is for those who appreciate classic rock music with progressive modern touches and psychedelic expression. It is well produced and each arrangement has a nice dynamic balance between vocals and instruments. Fans of David Bowie or Muse will thoroughly enjoy the well crafted collection of songs of "Crash Landing" by the talented artist Zallen.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Red Directors with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Wave it In "

If you like pop/rock with bigger-than-life hooks and sing-along choruses that stick with you long after the last note has drifted off into the night then, Red Directors, delivers the goods on their latest CD, "Wave It In," a ten song collection of highly polished power pop gems. "After Sunday" kicks things off with its infectious, era-spanning sense of melody and drive. It's only one of several highlights though. "Been Around" and "Pretty Good Odds" demonstrate the band's ballads are no less formidable than their best rockers, despite such defining up tempo performances as "Naked in the Kitchen" and "Woken Eye." Elsewhere, they more than ably show they can cover that middle ground between rocker and ballad too, offering up the terrific "Spin" and the endearing "Amazing," each with the same post-Beatles flourish that infuses the entire CD. RadioIndy is pleased to present Anne Price with a GrIndie Award for the CD "A Few More Miles to Go "

RadioIndy is pleased to present Anne Price with a GrIndie Award for the CD "A Few More Miles to Go "

The accomplished folk singer, Anne Price, returns with her 4th CD, "A Few More Miles to Go," yet another wonderful collection of (mainly) traditional – if lesser exposed, potent folk songs. Opening with a cover of the late, under-appreciated contemporary folk stylist, Kate Wolf (an influence on Nanci Griffith), "The Trumpet Vine" serves as a terrific introduction for a varied set that reveals folk music's rich and evolving traditions. As a veteran and leading exponent of NYC's storied folk heritage, Price's mastery of the music's many styles is unquestioned. As such, her take on the mountain ballad-like "Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key," a Woodie Guthrie tune originating from the seminal 1998 album by Billy Bragg & Wilco ("Mermaid Avenue") is true and affecting, as is her a cappella rendition of the English ballad, "The Keys of Canterbury." Elsewhere, Price's mid-range voice (not unlike Griffith's instrument these days) is the perfect vehicle for songs of homespun humor such as "Chocolate," children's sing-alongs songs like "Yucky Bugs," or praises to nature's wonder with "Black Waters." But nowhere is the singer better represented than on her Iris DeMent-like rendition of the playful Janis Ian tune, "My Autobiography." Without a doubt, Anne Price's excellent CD, "A Few More Miles to Go," is a fine addition to the American folk music library; the pairing of a revered songbook with a treasured performer.
